“I have just been given a Haier fridge. I'm trying to control the temp. So are when I have it on 4 it freezes a glass of water, when I move it to 6 it freezes also. Please help me what setting is correct & any other things I should look at. thanks”

My Haier has never wanted to go above 2! in the refrigerator section. Set at a hair under 2 it maintains 40 degrees well. Variations will occur as you add a load of not yet cold things to it. The location of the temperature dial -- not my favorite, it is easy to hit by accident. This is a terrific refrigerator for the money but it's not like a full size one where temperature control is immediate. But once you find your desired temp it's OK. I keep a little temperature dial in the refrigerator and the freezer. This is a worthwhile expense of ~ less than $10.

At first, set the dial to 4 and allow 24 hours to pass before adjusting the temperature to your needs. For normal operating conditions, keep the dial halfway between cold and coldest. For your convenience, the factory presets the control at normal operating conditions
