Can I use a 12 inch cast iron frypan in this? null

The product information says that you can use any pan that a magnet will stick to. Sometimes a pan that would normally work will be coated with a material that interferes with the heating process so that it won't work, which is why you might want to test the pan with a magnet.

I don't think it will work. The cook top comes with a strip that you use to check your cookware with. There was only 2 I could use, they had a solid metal disk on the bottom.
