I have done that too - you have to make sure to press down on the k-cup insert. They placed a blue label where a push will click it into the proper position. I haven't noticed any plastic taste. Try the vinegar soak/wash. Pour full-strength or partial vinegar through and let it 'brew' half of a carafe. Let is soak a long while.... half-hour? Turn it back on and let the rest go through. Pour water in for rinse a couple run-throughs. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You must flip the dial from pot to mug and make sure you don't over fill it. If it's more than a travel mug of water, it won't brew. Too much water and you'll have to make a pot instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to put water in a mug and put it in water side. It brews what you put in. If you put extra water it will drip out. You also need to not use tap water
