I really like this coffee maker. The last one I had, you had to nuke it even after pouring it from the burner (POT), This one, when you pour, it's HOT and it has options. Only thing, I wish it would stay on longer than 2 hours before turning off. But, all you need to do is hit the button and it heats up again!

I recently purchased this Flexbrew II coffeemaker. I am usually a researcher before buying but this unit appealed to me and I bought it in impulse. That said, I'm very happy with the unit. It's really nice to have a relatively small single coffeemaker that can brew both a large carafe and single cup pods. It's good-looking, takes up little space and has worked very well so far. The only drawback is that the brew cycle is a little slow so if you're trying to do multiple single cups in a hurry, this may not be for you. Still, if you don't mind giving up a minute or so on brewtime, there's a lot to commend this unit.

    Good Duel Coffee Pot

This coffee pot is just okay. It's not fantastic but it gets the job done. The main appeal of this was the ability to make 1 cup or a 12 cup pot of coffee. Unfortunately all the other duel coffee pots only make about 4 cups of coffee at a time. I like that with this one, you could still make a 12 cup pot. And that's the best part. It does has some issues. The water reservoir is on the right side of the coffee pot so that's a bit awkward to fill; it would be great if you could see the water levels on both sides of the coffee pot. For the most part, I've gotten used to that. At first the carafe was fine but within a week or two, it started to leak when you pour from it. The one cup side works great but you have to be careful with the amount of water you have to put in to the reservoir when you have it set for 1 cup. Too much and your coffee cup is overflowing. It would be easier to use if it had a water reservoir that you just kept constantly full and the coffee pot pulled from it the water that it needed as opposed to having to figure out exactly how much water 1 cup of coffee takes. Really this was the only one available in the store I was in that had the features I was looking for. If I could have waited I probably would have purchased a different brand from online. But overall it's a decedent coffee pot for the price and does what it's supposed to.

Bought it as a gift for my mom, and she loves it. For someone who doesn't drink coffee (like myself), it seems pretty complicated. It brews a 12 pot (and has a timer/alarm to start it in the morning), and does the single cup (with either the grounds, or the K-cups). The single cup feature has 2 heights for the cup: one for the travel mugs and one for the standard coffee cup. One thing to note, it doesn't have the reservoir that the Keurigs do. You have to fill up the water to the amount you need, and it cycles through the water until it's empty. So, if you have enough water in the 'tank' for a full coffee pot, DO NOT try and make a single cup. It will get messy, and you/your counter will get wet.

Works as advertised. Easy to figure out the controls, even without opening the manual. Easy to clean. Nice capacity. Attractive finish. We've used all of the functions so far, everything works. That said, there are a couple of things that would have scored a 5 Star rating if included: The timer function only works for the carafe side brewing, not the single-serve side. The carafe and single-serve functions both draw from the same reservoir, so once you fill for carafe brewing you have to go through with it before doing a single-serve brew. All-in-all, though, the machine had the features we wanted at a decent price, plus it matched our kitchen appliances. I would comfortably recommend it to a friend.

Useful alternative to having two coffee makers

Having the option of using a K-cup allows trying a wider variety of coffee flavors, while having a single-cup filter for grounds also allows using any coffee on the single cup side, reducing the per-cup expense. Also having an option to make a 12-cup carafe allows for caffeinating a houseful of guests or filling a jug to take to work. Having both in a single appliance reduces the amount of counter space needed to accommodate this flexibility. In addition, the single-cup side limits the amount of water it will heat depending on whether you are using a K-cup (maximum of 8 ounces) or the filter (up to 16 ounces -- enough for a travel mug). This helps avoid spills from overfilling the reservoir. All-in-all, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I got this coffee pot because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Keurig style - I dont always want a full pot of coffee and I like to have different flavors. My husband wanted a see thru carafe and was not happy with the cost or 1 cup style of the Keurigs. This is a perfect blend of both. See thru carafe, you can make either a Kcup mug of coffee or a whole pot. There are onyly 2 draw backs that I have encountered in the 2 months that I have owned this. 1. You cannot program the thing to brew a Kcup mug of coffee. 2. It is difficult to see how much water you have put in and if you are over, even a small amount, the pot will make you brew into the coffee pot side until there is the right amount of water in the tank to only brew the 1 Kcup size. I would like to see the ability to have the water either hooked up to a filtered water line, Or be able to leave the reservoir full and have the pot brew just 1 K-cup mug at a time rather than have to have the exact amount of water in the reservoir. Otherwise - this is a perfect blend of the coffee pot and the Keurig style machine for brewing one at a time. I love it. The quality seems excellent, the price was good, and it brews a wonderful cup/pot of coffee every time.

This is a great coffee maker that makes really hot coffee which was a requirement. Single serve k cup or fresh ground and full 12 cup settings. You must use filtered water or the chlorine taste will be overpowering. The only negative is that the hot plate under the glass carafe heats up even when you brew just a single serve k cup

I love the concept of this coffee maker. The first one I bought had a horrible plastic taste, the coffee was undrinkable. After reading lots of other reviews I decided to take a chance and exchange it for another one and thankfully this new one is great, no awful taste. I love the ability to make myself just one or two single cups during the week and then a whole pot on the weekends. I did figure out the trick of putting a bamboo skewer in the tank sensor so I can use a larger travel mug and not trip the overflow warning. I don't use the pods often but have them available for guests and like having the option. Overall I am really pleased with this coffee maker.

This is not our first Hamilton FlexBrew. We had bought one at Lowe's and it broke. It was $10 cheaper at Best Buy, so we decided to buy it here. My husband makes a half pot of coffee every day, and I usually drink a k-cup, so this works for us. If you are used to the Keurig, then the k-cup part of this machine will seem flimsy to you. However, we still like it because we always use both the coffeepot, and the kcups. What takes getting used to is that there needs to be the exact amount of water needed to make the k-cup. There is no water reservoir like the keurig. We have found that we fill our coffeemug with water, then dump it into the reservoir and it turns out great.

I like the option of either making a full pot of coffee or just one cup at a time. The only drawback is you can't fill up the reservoir completely and only make one cup of coffee like the Keurig. You have to fill the reservoir with only 1 cup of water at a time to make one cup of coffee at a time. If you fill the reservoir completely you can only make a full pot or it will give you an error when trying to make one cup. Still a nice product.

I have family staying over sometimes, plus my husband loves big quantities of coffee, and this coffee maker can handle it all. Coffee is done in 1,2,3. and I have the option to just make a cup. Our previous coffee maker was the same brand and last years.

Have had this for a couple months now and very happy with the purchase. I like the "bold" brew option, because we like strong coffee. This also makes hotter coffee than our last machine. The single cup options are great too. We make a full pot in the morning, but sometimes someone (we have 7 in our family) wants another cup, so the single option comes in handy. My wife has complained the single cup option makes weak coffee, though.

The Hamilton Beach Flex Brew Coffee Maker is a welcome addition to our kitchen. The machine is easy to use and maintain. The soothing blue LED lights are pleasing to the eye. The water level is easily seen from the side. The coffee is brewed quickly and at just-the-right temperature. I have yet to use the single travel mug feature, but it's nice to know the option is there. We've had two Cuisinart coffee makers, in the past, and have been very disappointed with their performance.

I bought this for my "technologically-handicapped" mom for a gift. She wanted a single serve coffee maker, however, she already had a regular coffee maker so I didn't want her to fill her counter-space with two small appliances. I knew I wanted to find a combo-option that had a large coffee pot and also the option to make a single cup of coffee. I looked at the Keurig options but was directed by a salesperson to this coffeemaker (it's the one she has) and what a PERFECT choice! It uses any brand of K-cup as well as having it's own filter to use your own grounds for a single serving. The large glass pot pours very well (sometimes coffeepots dribble when you pour them). It is so easy to use, looks great on the counter, and is versitale. GREAT PRODUCT!

This coffee maker has a little bit of everything. My wife usually uses it everyday for a half to full pot of coffee to be made. You can also use it with the K cups as well. For the full pot of coffee, just add in your coffee and filter while filling up your side spout with water. There is a timer fir you to set for an everday brew or you can just hit brew to start it up right away. The other thing you can do is just use it for a K cup. All you need is to put the K cup in the top portion and close the lid. There is a knob to turn from a full pot of coffee to a cup. Then just pour in the water and you are good to go!

This is a decent coffee maker. I have never owned a Kcup machine, but many at work use them and love them. I have owned the machine for just over 1 month. I am pleased with the regular coffee maker. It has a standard 12 cup carafe and reservoir. The machine allows for regular and bold brews (I can't really tell the difference). My main negative comment is that the brewing is much slower than other machines I have owned. As for the Kcup side, there are 2 attachments- 1 for use of the Kcup, and 1 for the use of grounds. The markers on the side of the reservoir are clear about how much water to add to use the Kcup. Do not overfill or the coffee is watery. Also, others have commented that you cannot use both sides at once. I don't see that as a detriment, but it is true. And, the carafe heater does come on when you brew a Kcup. We usually keep the carafe on the burner when empty, so that is not an issue. My only complaint about the Kcup side is that using the Kcups leaves a slight plastic flavor. That could be the Kcup refills that we use or maybe I am oversensitive to the taste or smell. My wife does not notice it. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.
