QuestionWhat is that inside of the reservoir? Is that a filter that has to be changed often? Why do you need a filter if you are using high quality water? Also, it says single serve, doesn't this reservoir hold more than 1 cup of water? Thanks

- Answer Thank you for your question. The water reservoir will be made of plastic. This Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker is labeled as a single serve brewing appliance however, the reservoir will hold 40oz of water. The water filter is offered as an accessory part and is not required for use.
