There is a different mount for larger posts - this one is great for about 3/4 up to 1 1/4 diameters - it's got some anti-slip inserts for smaller sizes that you take out for larger sizes - I'm using it on 1 1/8 or so tubing and it's solid.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Not sure on the diameter of my handlebars but it fits fine on both my cannondale synapse road bike and Gary Fisher mountain bike . The mount dose come with 2 rubber inserts witch I use on the mount bike but not on the road bike. I did mount it to my seat post and used the thickest insert.
