I just lent mine out to a friend that has the go pro hero + and the casing those come in works with the handler in the same connection, slipping and lining up the holes and putting the screw in...

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Hero 5 Black and needed nothing to slide the camera onto the floating handgrip, just the basic modular base that came with the GoPro. I’m not sure what your Go Pro 3 comes with but I don’t think you will need anything else. It’s the base with the plastic pincers on one side with a rubber Go Pro plug in between that prevents the release pincers from being accidentally squeezed. You just lift the rubber plug up, squeeze the pincers, slide it into the top of the floating handle until the pincers click into place and then push the rubber plug back down between the pincers to keep them from releasing. If that sounds at all familiar, then you already have what you need. Anyway, works fine with Hero 5 Black. Good luck. As a sidenote, makes the camera float great so you don’t lose it but it floats upside down. We found it useful sharing the camera in the water at the beach.
