• It detaches and reattaches with magnets, it doesn't slide up like in the movies unfortunately. :(

• It completely detached, and can be placed a top of the helm by magnets.

• It is magnetically attached in both the front closed and the open top position. It's really cool to be able to remove it to breath, but you can drop the faceplate if you shake your head or look down. Great helmet, though.
