A:Answer I bought this desk a while back because of the 40" width. I also bought a 30 pound CLX gaming rig which is 9" wide and 20" deep and I have it on top of this desk along with my 27" monitor, but it is a very tight squeeze. The desk does not move or wobble, which I'm surprised at. There is not enough room to put a tower under the desk however, without bumping into it. Hope this helps. I also didn't put on the side pieces with the LEDs, because they were flimsy plastic. A good desk if you need a smaller desk, but no room for upgrading.
