Yes. There is a VGA connection located on the back of the TV. You could also connect it through HDMI if your MacBook supports HDMI.

If you can split the screen in the MacBook Pro, you can also split the external screen, as that is a capability of the software and video card in the computer and it can be done in any monitor. Now, this is a 720p monitor and for connecting a computer it will be much better a 1080p TV.
