• Yes. You can control the tv manually with the buttons on tv.

• yes it has controls on the right side of the TV, plus if you have a smartphone you can down load a program that works wonderful as a remote.

• No it does not. Having the control creates the unique user friendly experience the t.v. was intended for. I would say having the control is essential. The control provided is not your conventional control. It very much looks like a Roku control. It is very small about 4 inches length wise and about 2 inches in width.
