Hi RJ30, thank you for your interest in the Hisense 40A4NF. To change the aspect ratio, press the Home button on your remote, then navigate to the settings (gear icon) at the top or side of the screen. Alternatively, press the Settings/Menu button directly on your remote. Go to Picture: Select the Picture menu option. Find Aspect Ratio: Scroll down the list until you see Aspect Ratio. (On some versions of VIDAA, this is located under Advanced Settings within the Picture menu). Select Your Mode: Choose from the available options: Auto: The TV will automatically adjust based on the signal it receives (usually the best setting). 16:9: Standard widescreen format for modern movies and TV shows. 4:3: Best for older "square" TV shows to prevent stretching. Panoramic / Movie Zoom: These will stretch or zoom the image to fill the screen, though some parts of the image may be cut off.
