I think you have to push the button to work the microphone but the TV itself doesn't work it's garbage check multiple negative reviews after about 6 months the internal electronics fries you can't get online and if you can't get online to sign into your Google account the TV won't even turn on Don't waste your money on this unit

The microphone is only enabled when using voice commands for the Google Assistant. You are able to unpair the remote’s Bluetooth connection to disable Google Assistant.
