Hi JojoB, Thank you for your interest in the Hisense 55A7N. Local dimming allows for pixels to dim certain zones while highlighting others at the same time, which allows for better contrasts. The 55U7N has 240 local dimming zones, whereas the 55U6N has 160 local dimming zones.
