“Can anyone tell me how the viewing angle is on this set? I don't see if it is an IPS panel which would, at the very least, usually indicate pretty good viewing angle. If anyone has real life experience it would be appreciated.”

the viewing angle, like any other VA panel, is not as good as IPS and is average. Best seating is directly in front of the TV, but even being on the left or right side of a couch should not take away from the viewing experience, but in my experience does lead to a little more blooming around white symbols (hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it). I have done a solid amount of research for the best TV for my price range, under $1000, and this is the best option for the price and is as competitive as some models ~$1500-2000 when it comes to HDR movie watching and peak brightness. I am very happy with the purchase, but your intended primary use for this TV, EX. gaming or pc monitor, will hinder how much you enjoy this TV. If you are using it for some gaming, it does great with this but is not set up for next gen., and mostly HDR movie content then you will be thrilled with this TV. Hope this help, this is only my opinion but from all my research and all i have seen from other TVs this does HDR content as good as any out there.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Having this TV for just 1 month, I'm VERY happy with it. Installation and the set-up were very easy (I did it myself - just follow the instruction on the screen). Some people complained that remote control is not high tech enough - I disagree. It is a perfect combination of full functionality, simplicity, and ease of navigation. As to viewing angle - I have no complaints, although I watch it most sitting in front of it (at 0 deg angle). If I stand on either side of TV at 45 deg, the picture is as good as any other high-end TV I tested in the big box store. On the other hand, for me watching this or any other TV at 45 or more deg angle means you set-up your TV in the wrong place. In summary, I had some reservations about this TV due to the fact that this is a Chinese made, I even talked to customer service about possibility of returning it in case I will not like it. I was informed that BB has 15 days return policy for any reason with no question asked (excluding of course damage due to your carelessness) Taking into consideration quality, price (~50% less than comparable Samsung), and ease of set-up and operation I highly recommend this TV. I could not be happier so far with this purchase.
