No. Mine is on power saver mode and has an excellent picture

I'm so elated at the crispness and brightness of the Hisense 55" right out of the box that I have not tried to enhance what I got at plug in. I have a 15 year old WEGA (Sony) that is so dim I can hardly enjoy what TV I do watch in my den. I'm spending more time in my pool room because of the great Hisense picture. Sometimes "good" gets in the way of "great". Enjoy what you have unless it is extremely dim. Then do a return.
