Yes, I use Thunderbolt on older MacBook Pro, but I also know that as long as you are on your wifi or have Blu-tooth, it will connect wirelessly too. However if you are using it to watch lets say YouTube, Amazon, Netflix, Vudu or anything like that you will be able to use the built in apps on this monitor/TV, as they work great, and they'll be in full 4K.

Yes. A converter should work. You can also connect your computer to the TV using an HDMI cord.
