You're confusing HDCP with HDMI. HDCP is High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. The Roku Express 4k+ requires an HDMI port that supports HDCP 2.2, and the U7G ports do. That said, if you use anything else in the signal chain, such as a receiver or soundbar, that isn't HDCP 2.2 compliant, it will block your 4k content. Everything in the system has to support HDCP 2.2 handshaking, not just the TV.

Please try again later.I think that there is no such thing as HMDI 2.2 and the most current version is 2.1 so no matter what. 2.1 is only needed if you plan to run 4k resolution at 120hz. Aside from wanting to display in 120hz. It doesnt really matter what hdmi you plan to use.
