“I've connected the Projector (Hisense PL1) HDMI(eARC) to the AV Receiver’s input. However , there's no audio. To establish the optimal HDMI connection, does the Receiver also need an eARC HDMI and 8kcable?”

once you select right HDMI input source on your AV receiver you should have sound. you also can check audio output setting in PL1 setting menu to make sure eARC is on. hope it help you
