• Hi, Jessica, I own a Samsung Smart TV too & the only way I've gotten Google Home to turn the tv on is by asking it to play a Youtube video on my Google Chromecast which is connected to the TV. I'm not so sure about turning tv on to watch cable. But I mean, once it's on you can simply use the remote to change to cable TV! :-)

• Google Home integrates with the Harmony Hub remote which could be used to control a TV, cable box etc... By default, Google Home is not able to control a Samsung TV.
