• I can turn on and off my not-smart TV with Google Home because I was able to integrate my Harmony Hub with Google Home using IFTTT. It all depends on your setup.

• Depends, I've just today read that SONY added support for GOOGLE HOME to their smart TV's. If you have a LOGITECH HARMONY hub running your Entertainment equipment like I do, the HOME doesn't support it but using IFTTT which the HOME does support you can. I make and applet in IFTTT to turn on my Cable, TV, AMP etc. then use IFTTT thru HOME to issue commands to turn the TV etc on. (PIC attached). It works well. BUT, I cannot at this time change channels, volume etc.
