Q: QuestionThe gray description says it kills germs and bacteria but the black says the same but with the addition of virus. Please look into this. Ty
Asked by Liehry.
- A:Answer I use this Homedics UV-C bag to sanitize car keys, reading and sun glasses, watches, phones, nail clippers, pens, you name it. Anything that fits inside and I use, I sanitize it. The effectiveness is identical between the gray and the black models (53398BBR and 53397BBR respectively). I read on Homedics website that a non-affiliated 3rd party confirmed these units eliminate 99.9% of germs, bacteria, and viruses, etc. I know hospitals use the same technology to sanitize medical utensils. Also, please understand that the specs for the black model currently listed are for a completely different pop-up model (53399BBR). Both the gray and the black use 4 UV-C lights and are larger versus the “pop-up” phone sanitizer that uses 2. Also, it is a good idea to purchase/use true hepa filter purifiers for your home and or workspace as they will filter out airborne impurities down to .3 microns. That means 99.97% of viruses, germs, bacteria etc. will be cleaned out of the room’s air. I use these in conjunction with my Homedics UV-C portable sanitizer to maintain a healthy environment. Very important these days! I have purchased six of these UV-C sanitizing bags for myself and family with no problems.

Q: QuestionIs there any laboratory proof of how well this device sanitizes a phone?
