• You don't need drainage. The water is recirculated thru the unit to cool the coils.

• dont think so. I dont own the unit but reviews state ,"A flat pan must be put under the unit and u open the drain valve". It only needs to be drained on very humid days, like a refrigerator pan I assume, which I never empty.
