As long as water can completely drain out of the hose due to gravity, (no rising sections of the hose that can trap water, or collapsing hose sections), a longer hose should work.

Author's opinion: guess is you can run a longer hose, but results may vary. For example, a dip may trap a bubble that can't be pushed through due to lack of head.

Please try again later.I suppose so, but instead, I purchased 1/2-in ID x 10-ft PVC Clear Vinyl Tubing to extend the provided drain hose slightly to an existing floor drain (I had sufficient "drop"" to maintain water flow thru the entire 10 ft of tubing). Vinyl tubing was cheaper than garden hose.
