Thank you for your inquiry. This unit is rated to remove smoke from the air. Additionally, if the odor is particularly strong, we would advise using the Optional S Odor and VOC reducing filter for Smoke. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use it in the kitchen and living room after I cook. It takes out the odor pretty well. You might need to turn at the highest level (a little loud) to take out the smoke.
