We would advise getting a hygrometer to make sure the humidity in the room does not increase too much, and we would advise making sure there is plenty of circulation around the unit by making sure it is not near other furniture. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you leave the humidifier in the same location for several hours, the carpet does feel SLIGHTLY damp. The carpet dries very quickly. I move it around every few hours if I can. I use it while I sleep, though, and then I don't move it. I just move it to a new location the next night.
