The question is correct, there are two hepa filters and a sheet of loose woven plastic, about 16" x 48" that is supposed to be pre-filter. This material is no way as dense as the original carbon pre-filter. It probably will catch dog hair, but I don't know if it stop odors. After cutting material for the prefilter from this sheet, there is not enough left for two more of the size needed for a 300 series machine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The cold, hard truth is the HRF-ARVP kit is intended for 100 & 200 HPA series from Honeywell. IT SAYS SO ON THE RETAIL BOX. No mention of 300 series. Yes, all Honeywell R/HEPA filters are the same across 100/200/300 series. What differs is how many R filters are used at once: 1x R for 100 series, 2x R for 200 series & *3x* R for 300 series. When you buy ARVP, you will only get 2x R/HEPA, leaving you one R short for a 300 series. Should you buy 2x ARVP, netting 4x R/HEPA (setting one aside for later use), YOU WILL BE PAYING MORE PER R/HEPA FILTER THAN IF YOU BOUGHT THE HRF-R3 (3x R/HEPA) KIT, WHICH IS INTENDED FOR 300 SERIES. This is BB supply chain lunacy and bad customer service. The A/pre-filter "bulk" roll in ARVP is intended to be cut down to size for 100 & 200 series. It is supposed to be made of activated charcoal, treated with anti-microbial, hypoallergenic zeolite. No where on the retail box does it say you can cut 2x HPF-AP1 pre-filters from that roll. If you think it is too thin, there's the HRF-APP1/pre-filter, which is thicker than standard HRF-AP1. Because BB has shown itself incapable of stocking/selling 300 series filter kits, I buy all my filters direct from honeywellstore.com. I would prefer to buy 300 series filter kits from BB, but BB continues to bait 300 series customers with 200 series filter kits, instead of doing the right thing.. Even if you've already cut-up the bulk AP1/pre-filter roll from ARVP, you should contact the HoneywellStore & complain about what BB is doing. Honeywell seriously cares about its brand. They will do something to help you salvage your situation. Hope this helps...

The pre-filter sheet needs to be cut to size, as it is a universal pre-filter. Following the template provided, this can provide 8 pre-filters for the 100 series air purifiers or 4 pre-filters for the 200 series air purifiers.
