“I have a much older gravity furnace there is no blower/AC. I do have a programmable thermostat however there are only two wires coming from the wall. Will this thermostat work with my existing set up?. Also does this thermostat require batteries?”

This thermostat doesn't require batteries, you have to have a C wire to power the device on. If it will work with a two wire setup I really don't know, I think it depends on what each wire you have powers, the best way is to look at the back of your current thermostat and check where your wires are plugged. Then compare with this one. In the setup of the device there are many different possibilities in which you can use it.
