No... I think you must have a c wire installed connected to the thermostat
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thermostat runs on 24 volts, so can't use a regular power cord. They do make some work arounds with a transformer. However, check on honeywell website for the manual--there is a way to easily use the "fan" control wire as the "c" wire. The only downside is that you can't run the furnace fan manually anymore--but I don't think I've ever done that anyway. Yours is a common problem and there are work arounds. This is a great thermostat and having dedicated power source beats changing batteries all the time and then having batteries die when you're away from home.
