you do need a common wire which does power the unit. if your old thermostat uses battery your common wire still maybe ran if not they give you very detailed instructions and videos on how to make it work. I had the common wire ran but not hooked up went to my ac unit and hooked up my self. if you can watch a simple video its a breeze took about 10 min to install
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The thermostat requires a source of 24 v ac (connected to the "C" terminal. Normally, a 110v - 24v ac transformer is used at the furnace (usually mounted at the furnace on-off switch box) and wired to the thermostat via the furnace control cables. If you are unsure how to do this, I would recommend a qualified HVAC person to install it. In operation, you can see the temp at the thermostat via either the Honeywell website or the Android/Apple apps on your smartphone. This requires a wifi connection to the thermostat and registering the thermostat with Honeywell's website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. It can be done through third party apps. I have not seen any application from Nest for Mac.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For my installation, I did not require 110 VAC. The unit runs on 24V provided by the HVAC unit. I am able to check temperature and humidity via the computer using the portal at www.mytotalconnectcomfort.com or via the Honeywell-provided app on my smartphone. This requires an internet connection for the phone or computer, and a wireless network with internet connection for the thermstat(s).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The thermostat uses the 12v wiring from your furnace, so no 115VAC is needed. Yes, you can use the My Honeywell web-page to check/adjust the temp and to set up notifications. It also works well with the iPhone App.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes to both.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you need 110, and you can run it from your computer. It is a cloud app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Does not run on 115VAC, will not work with baseboard heaters. Need to have a "c" wire running from the furnace to the thermostat for power. Uses low voltage from the furnace, and you can check or change temps from a computer or smartphone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need to have a plug for this but a professional will be able to bridge the appropriate wires to get it to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. You need 24vac with is typical for a furnace. Yes you can check the inside temp and setting from any remote computer or smartphone.
