Hi LeslieB, You may be able to! It's possible you either have a clog in the tube or in one of the connection points/inlets. Try taking apart your vacuum and checking for any obstructions. If you see any, just go ahead and clear those the best you can. Next, remove your filter and rinse it with water to get the debris off. Allow it 24 hours to dry before placing it back in.Once you've done these steps your vacuum should run properly.
