• Gently put your foot on the base of the vacuum and pull down on the handle.

• Just lightly place your foot on the vacuum head and the handle will be released and recline.

• My vacuum is nearly 10 yrs old and the “recline” lever is operated by your left foot. The newer models may be different, however.
