Will it harm the battery to leave it on the charger? null

The Hoover support folks told us not to leave it in the charger after it reaches full charge. It will shorten the battery life they said.

One testimonial stated that a Linx owner has been leaving their battery on charge for up to 8 hours with no problems for months. Nevertheless, it seems that 2 to 4 hours would be safer practice. After all, these are Lithium batteries. Hope this helps.

NO, that is the preferred method.

According to the manual, you should not leave the battery in th charger, but you can leave it in the vacuum.
