Yes, the roller brush will stay off on the vacuum’s first power setting. On the vacuum’s grip, a little wheel you flick to each setting, flicking it forward just once will put you in suction only mode. The second setting runs the brushes.

So yes, you can use the LiNX with the brush roll turned off while cleaning your vinyl plank. Swapping between the two run settings is easy and controlled by a convenient button on the handle. We have vinyl plank floors and i highly doubt this brush is gonna damage them in the long run. Dogs and walking on the floor will cause more friction than the brush on this vacuum. Great vacuum so far.
