• It has an on and off button. This is by far a fantastic vacuum with no cords.

• Hello Switch, This unit does feature a switch that will power up the vacuum and it will not need to be continuously held in order to run the vacuum. Thank you! Matt - Hoover Team

• This cordless vacuum has an on and off switch. Also allows you to switch from multi-surface, carpet or turn the brush off. Hope this helps.
