“I have one room with berber carpet and only cleaned it once to give it a try. As the manual stated it was a bit hard on it. Can I use the cleaner without the brushes for this room.?”

Not sure the center brush comes off the rest do.

So the brush roll is what we call a “floating” brush roll. It will adjust to the carpet as it moves around and it shouldn’t damage it. You can clean the carpet without the brush roll, but you won’t get as good of a clean. This is because you will only be using the solution. The brush roll agitates the dirt on the carpet giving it a deeper clean, so if you doesn’t use it, you just won’t get the full benefit.
