I contacted Hoover customer support with this same question and was told that both the models are exactly the same, but the FH50258 (PLUS) version just comes with more attachments to hook up to the cleaner. If the PLUS version is cheaper than the standard version, then I would 100% go with the cheaper cleaner!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Brad, I don't know the difference between the two models you mentioned. I am on my third Hoover shampooer in 5 years... They seem well made, and perform well for a while... then die. Not sure why, but maybe lack of use (causes parts to corrode and freeze up?) Anyway, I recommend an extended warranty whatever model you buy. This model replaces my last unit (after 1.5 years) and I paid nothing but tax and a modest warrany fee again. Good luck!
