Best practice to use this machine: 1) Use a vacuum or Roomba to get all the loose dirt off the floor; then 2) Use on the floor. You will get better results if you vacuum first. I wouldn't call it a "mop." It is a smaller version of those "Zamboni-type" machines you see in hospitals & schools. Also, DO NOT USE ON HARDWOOD FLOORS...unless the hardwood is well sealed. You will strip the wood, discolor it, & warp it. You MUST have it sealed well. It picks up all kinds of debris. Your floors will be very clean.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, instead of a separate switch for vacuum, this new model just has you pull back over the cleaned area to vacuum up any standing water. You may not have to do much vacuuming if you apply less water to the floor. Clean debris from the bottom of the machine and the filter in the dirty water tank.

Please try again later.If it washes the floor very well and picks up a lot of pet hair but doesn't pick up small debris, i think it washes better than bissell but this one picks up almost any small trash. Even if you want to wash and pick up most pet hair, the Hoover powerdash is highly recommended.
