• Yes the manual actually recommends doing a water only rinse after you clean the carpet to get rid of remaining cleaning solution

• Hey Melanie, Thank you for your question! It’s easy to rinse your carpets with the SmartWash! Simply remove the solution tank from the unit, fill the Clean Water Tank, then push forward to rinse, pull back to dry. Thanks, Joseph - The Hoover Team
