Thank you for your question! The steps with pictures on how to clean the brush roll are available on page eleven of your user manual and here is also a quick step by step on how to do it: First, make sure your vacuum is powered off and unplugged. Lay the vacuum down in a horizontal position with the nozzle (underside) facing down. Remove the 4 screws on the nozzle lid, then pivot off the nozzle cover (it will stay attached to the end of the vacuum and open like a door on a hinge). From there you have access to your brush roll for maintenance and cleaning. When finished, close the nozzle cover and tighten the 4 screws back into place. Thanks, Joseph - The Hoover Team

Then replace the bagless container and turn the vacuum on. If the container does not start filling. Repeat step 1.
