“The hose attachment will not click into vacuum. No parts have fallen off but it seem too narrow. Whats going on?”

The hose attachment? The vacuum comes with the regular hose that is attached to it when you get it out of the box. After you put the top portion on the hose just clicks into the bottom right hand side of the vacuum. If you want to use an actual attachment like the brush you just need to hit the gray button and it will come off.
