• Based on the vacuums user manual, the brush roll will continue to turn while product is turned on and in the upright position. Basically, it will continue to turn when you are using accessories or on hard floors. I have included a couple other vacuums where you can turn off the brush roll when using accessories. Thank you!

• Almost sure, no. If hard floor, setting is on high, brush does not even touch the floor. What I was concerned, and saw, when you use it with "hose cleaning" the handle if vertical, and brush is very high off the floor. Not to "burn/wear out the carpet" for shag rugs for example, you might want to lift the brush way off the rug buy pulling the handle back when locked in vertical position. My previous vac did not have this ability.

• Not that I have found, however it raises up when switched to the hard floor setting. So far it works just fine on our hard floors.
