It should I have three shelties and it's like a shampoo add every day and it pics up all there hair no problem. And does not wind up in the beater bar

Have not found this to be a problem. Vacuum is at my sisters house, my niece's hair is at least 24" and it's everywhere :)

It will get stuck, but it's easy to clean off. Use an old comb you no longer use anymore.

I'm guessing that your hair would get tangled around any vacuum's brush. This vacuum has a destire to turn the roller brush off. Not sure if your hair will be cleanly sucked up with just the suction, but its possible.
