Did you try changing it to 3/4? Vacuum needs to be adjusted on some carpets/rugs. You won't notice much difference in suction, but it will be a lot easier to handle. Beware too, as I almost destroyed one of the smaller rugs by using setting 2 and tearing corner apart. Never again! Once you know which setting to use for what it will be a breeze=)
