• Yes to cleaning a filter. But a light indicates when it is time to do this and you are able to just rinse it off, let it dry and ready to go again.

• there's a small filter on top of canister that you rinse, very easy.. no paper filters like to old ones

• Hi! The WindTunnel 3 Pro has two filters. We recommend rinsing the primary filter under running water and allowing to dry 24 hours every 4-6 uses. The HEPA filter can be tapped out to clean. Let us know if you have more questions! ~Kenya, Hoover Customer Care
