What is the noise level of this vacuum? My dog is deathly afraid of my current vacuum, I suspect because it is SO loud , how loud is this vacuum?

Hi jen,

Some dogs dislike vacuums because of the noise, but this vacuum emits the same noise level as other vacuums of its size. It does have rubberized tools to attract stubborn pet hair, so it's a great vacuum to have with dogs in the house. As to address what the previous answer claimed, the belt is easy to change and the only "specialized" tool you need is a Philips screwdriver. Just remove the base plate, slide the brushroll out, remove the belt and slide the new one in around the pulley. Then slide the brushroll back in and put the base plate back on. It is slightly less noisy, BUT it has NO SIDE SUCTION and requires a certified repair center just to change the beater bar belt! It takes specialized tools and removing, and most times replacing the clutch just to change the beater belt!

Not super quiet, but not too loud, either. Your question is a difficult one to answer because "loud" or "SO loud" is a relative term. You're probably going to be better off getting this vacuum because it should be an improvement over your other one based on your emphasis on "loud."

If you are just vacuuming, it isn't as loud as others I have had. However,m if you want to add the attachments, it is a little louder.

My animals would disappear whenever I vacuumed before. I was shocked when I saw them watching me vacuum the last time I used this. I find it to be pretty quiet.

Loud! If you want to actually pick up dirt they all are going to have a motor that will be loud. My dog goes in the other room eventually!
