Q: Questiondoes the dishwasher heat the water if the water temperature is not hot enough?
Asked by kevin.
This question was asked about the related product: Hotpoint - 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Black
- A:Answer Hello - Thanks for your question; we are happy to help! The dishwasher does not heat the water. For optimal cleaning performance and to prevent damage to dishes, water entering the dishwasher must be at least 120 degrees F and not more than 150 degrees F. Always make sure the dishwasher is connected to the hot water line, not the cold. If the water is not hot enough, your water heater may need to be adjusted. Thanks for checking. Olga@GEA

Q: QuestionWe purchased a new dishwasher in November 2021. The dishes are not dry when finished. No place to select for dry. Can you help ? We love our dishwasher
Asked by Wash.
- A:Answer Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us about your dishwasher. We hate to hear that it is not drying as you would expect and would love to help as this is not the experience we want for you. We recommend checking out the following troubleshooting tips, in this case: 1.) Water entering the dishwasher should be between 120 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit for best wash and dry performance. Run the faucet closest to the dishwasher prior to starting the dishwasher to purge cold water from the hot water line. 2.) Unload the lower rack first. Water from the upper rack can spill on the lower rack if you unload it first, making the lower rack dishes wet. 3.) Make sure that dishes are not touching. Fancy cookware can also keep dishes from drying properly. For example, dimples, indents or etching allows water to pool resulting in dishes remaining wet at the end of the cycle. These may require the shaking off any pooled water. Do not overload dishes in the dishwasher. 4.) Check the rinse aid dispenser and fill it if it is empty. Rinse aids prevent spots on glasses and promote drying by causing water to sheet off dishware and glassware. Rinse aids such as Jet-Dry® can be purchased in your local grocery store. You are welcome to contact us any time with questions you may have as we are always here to help! -Chris@GEA

Q: QuestionThk you for answer re: heat element/water temp. You advise use 'hot start' but is this a one time function for heavy wash only or will this function again when normal (2nd) wash is reached or even apply at all when normal wash is selected?
Asked by Shopping.
- A:Answer Hi there, We appreciate you reaching out. We're happy to answer your question! The hot start function is a single use setting that must be applied every time you wish to use it. So once one load is done and you want to use it for the 2nd load, it must be set again. We hope this helps. Mike@GEA

Q: QuestionMy old (now broken) GE pot-scrubber heated the water, which I depend on due to distance of hot water tank. Does the Hotpoint HDA2100HCC heating element automatically heat the water to 120 degrees or is it only used for heated drying?
Asked by Shopping.
- A:Answer Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us about this dishwasher. Our dishwashers must have a minimum water temperature at the dishwasher of 120 degrees. With this model due to the distance between the dishwasher and water heater then we recommend using the HOT START feature as this provides optimal water temperature for dependable performance. The heating element is used the keep the water hot enough during the washing cycle and to dry the dishes. We might suggest turning on the HOT water at the sink before running the dishwasher to get the hot water to your dishwasher. Hope this helps. Stay well. Geoff@GEA
