The Hotpoint dryer can be bottom vented. It has a knockout plate on the bottom of the dryer meant just for bottom venting. You would have to remove the bottom panel knockout, reposition duct into downward position, plug the hole on back panel with the knockout and duct foil tape, and prep the dryer transition duct rated for bottom venting such as a semi-rigid transition duct. Nonetheless, it is very possible to vent the dryer from the bottom. Venting from the bottom will also allow you to push the dryer further back towards the wall than you could if duct was behind dryer. The door is also reversible on this dryer. Just remove the plugs on one side, and unscrew the door hinges from the frame. Then place the door hinges on the side where the plugs/rivets were with the screws. it can be reversed in under five minutes with a drill with an extension and Phillips #2 bit. Just make sure to not overtighten screws with drill/driver, and use lower torque setting. Afterwards, place the plugs into holes remaining on other side and you will be good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi tuliphaus, thanks for reaching out! The model that you've provided here is a top load washer. To check to see if the dryer in question can be vented through the bottom and if the door can be reversed we would need the model number of the dryer. Please feel free to send us an email or reach out to us on social media with the model number of the dryer you're looking at purchasing. We'd be happy to look into this further for you. Hope to hear from you soon. Stay safe. -Michael
