Hi there - For convenience, best performance and optimal efficiency, select Precise Fill/Auto. This selection automatically provides the correct amount of water suited to the size and type of load placed in the unit. Lid will be locked for the duration of the load sensing process, which includes a brief spin period and a portion of the water fill. We hope this helps!
