A:AnswerHi - Thanks for considering GE! The freezer is not made in America. GE Appliances products are designed by GE Appliances engineers in the United States. Many are manufactured in the U.S. and others are made globally to our specifications. The country of origin is shown on the Model/Serial rating plate as well as the packaging. Manufacturing facilities (plant sites, where appliances are made) can and do change from time to time because GE Appliances continues to seek the most efficient manufacturing processes available. We make products all over the world for a Global marketplace. Therefore, your best source for manufacturing location is the packaging/product itself. Visit "Made in America": https://www.geappliances.com/ge/usa/ - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerHi Cal - Thanks for viewing Hotpoint HCM9DMWW! The freezer does not have a drain connection for a hose. Place a tray (not included) in front of the freezer,
beneath the exterior drain plug to collect the water. We suggest viewing the Use and Care Manual for defrosting instructions: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60798-2.PDF - Keep in touch at hotpoint.com. Sue

A:AnswerHi Zach - On all GE Chest Freezers, the correct operating temperature is -5 to +5 degrees Fahrenheit. The frequency of door openings plays a large role in maintaining proper freezer temperatures. In order to take the temperature of solid food, place a thermometer between frozen packages or in some ice cream. Thanks for considering Hotpoint! Keep in touch. Sue
